Memcached in Shared Hosting
When you host script-powered sites in a shared hosting account with our company, you can add Memcached to your hosting plan with just a few clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel. The upgrade will be available momentarily and, since the PHP extension required for it is already installed on our advanced cloud hosting platform, you can begin using it straight away. To give you more flexibility, we offer two separate upgrades related to the number of instances (i.e. how many websites will use Memcached) and to the system memory that the Memcached caching system will use. The latter comes in increments of 16 MB and you can add as much memory as you like. Logically, the more memory Memcached is allowed to use, the more data it will cache, so if you have a traffic-intensive site with lots of data, you may require more memory to be able to take full advantage of the power that Memcached can give you.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you choose to host your sites in a semi-dedicated server account, you can take advantage of Memcached effortlessly, as the platform’s activation requires a couple of clicks of the mouse from the Hepsia Control Panel. The PHP extension that it requires is already installed on our servers, so you can begin using the Memcached platform the moment you add it to your account. You’ll be able to select how many Internet sites can use it and how much info can be cached, in other words – there’re two separate features that can be upgraded – the number of instances and the amount of system memory. You can get more of both, so if one of your sites becomes very busy, for instance, you can always get more memory. Our system is truly flexible in this regard and we do not bind a specific number of instances to a fixed amount of memory. You can take advantage of the Memcached platform to improve the speed of any script-powered site, including those that are based on famous Internet apps, such as Joomla™ or WordPress.
Memcached in VPS Servers
If you order a VPS server from us, you will be able to use Memcached at no additional fee, as the platform is available with all virtual machines ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel. Even if you run large-sized sites, you can increase their overall performance without effort and the lowered load on the Virtual Private Server will allow you to continue using your current VPS plan rather than upgrading to a more powerful one. The amount of memory that Memcached can use to cache information depends on the plan that you’re using, but even with a lower-end one, you’ll get no less than several hundred MB, which is considerably more than what you’d get with a shared hosting package, so the website performance boost will be tremendous. You can take advantage of Memcached with any database-powered application, irrespective of whether you have written it yourself or you’re using a ready-for-use one such as WordPress, OpenCart or Joomla™.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
When you get any of our Linux dedicated servers and if you select Hepsia as your hosting Control Panel during the order process, you’ll get the Memcached distributed memory caching platform as standard and you can enable it for each site that you host on your server without upgrading or installing anything. It will start storing information as users visit your website, so you will see the results of using it shortly thereafter. The minimum amount of system memory that will be available to the caching platform is 3 GB and naturally, the more powerful the package, the more memory Memcached will have at its disposal. This amount will permit you to take advantage of the platform for a large number of Internet sites or for an extremely busy website without weakening its efficacy. Memcached will enable you to improve the loading speed of any database-driven Internet site in no time – a Joomla™ portal, a WordPress online journal, an OpenCart e-store, etc., and to optimize the overall performance of your server.
